Prime Minister Cvijanovic met with Head of Delegation of the European Union to BiH, Lars- Gunnar Wig
Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Zeljka Cvijanovic had a meeting yesterday with Head of Delegation of the European Union to BiH and EU Special Representative in BiH, Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark.
The meeting covered various issues, one of which were activities of the Republic of Srpska institutions related to realization of defined priorities during the EU association process. Prime Minister Cvijanovic reiterated the position of the Government of the Republic of Srpska that the process of BiH Association to the EU must be the ownership of everybody in BIH but most of all must be congruent with the Constitution. The Prime Minister also stressed that the Constitutional principle must be adhered to consistently with regard to defining solutions for all open issues that need to be addressed in order to make the BiH application to the EU credible.
Prime Minister Cvijanovic pointed to the significance of publishing the census results as soon as possible which should primarily serve as indicator for planning the socio-economic development of BiH and expressed dissatisfaction over the fact that certain political groups were trying to politicizes the whole issue. The Prime Minister further said that the only possible way to deal with the issue of finding a proper solution for establishing the resident population was to comply strictly with the Law on Census of Population, Households and Dwellings in BiH.
Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Zeljka Cvijanovic appraised Ambassador Wigemark about the results of the participation of the Government Delegation at the Spring Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank in Washington particularly in view of the fact that these two financial institutions along with the European Union have significant role in providing technical and financial support to realization of the Reform Agenda for BiH 2015 – 2018, being one of key criteria for evaluation of BiH European path.
Prime Minister Cvijanovic thanked Ambassador Wigemark for cooperation and particularly highlighted today's opening of the Kastel Fortress which reconstruction had been funded through the IPA funds as an example of positive involvement and concrete support of the European union to the Republic of Srpska.
