28th June in Paris: Serbian diaspora celebrated "Vidovdan", Serbian national holiday.

Celebration of the Serbian national holiday "Vidovdan" was organised on 28th July in the premises of the Île-de-France Region in Paris by the Serbian Union in France, hosted by Madame Valérie Pécresse, President of the region. Head of the Republic of Srpska Representation in Brussels, Mr. Mario Đuragić attended the ceremony among other Serbian diplomatic representatives based in Paris. Madame Pécresse, President of the Île-de-France region hosted this ceremony and shows commitment and support of the regional Council to Serbian community in France.



The Serbian Orthodox Church designates "Vidovdan" as the memorial day to Saint Prince Lazar and the Serbian holy martyrs who fell during the epic Battle of Kosovo against the Ottoman Empire on June 28, 1389. It is an important part of Serb ethnic and Serbian national identity.
