Economy of the Republic of Srpska 2019-2022 – Dialogue for the Future
The Government of the Republic of Srpska, Union of Employers’ Associations and Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska organized a conference on Economy of the Republic of Srpska 2019-2022 – Dialogue for the Future on 28 September 2018 in Banja Luka.
The purpose of the conference was to indicate the challenges faced by our economy and to propose potential solutions in order to overcome them in the future, by taking into account the experiences and suggestions presented by the participants in the event.
The main task of the conference was also to improve the dialogue between the Government of the Republic of Srpska and business community, which was intensified last year through the joint panel event called ‘Deal for a More Successful Srpska’, but also through many other activities and a series of round tables on drafting the guidelines for development of the economy of the Republic of Srpska.
The opportunity to participate in the conference had representatives of leading companies operating in the Republic of Srpska, sector ministries, representatives of the academic community and nongovernmental sector, renowned experts in individual fields from the region, representatives of local self government units and many other public institution representatives that shape the business environment in the region.
Additionally, one of the participants at the Round-table devoted to tourism and its development was Mr. Dennis van der Avoort with whom the Republic of Srpska Representation in Brussels has been cooperating for many years with aim of promoting the tourist values of the Republic of Srpska in Benelux countries.
Conclusions of the conference provided a good basis for drafting the programme of economic reforms of the Republic of Srpska for the next year. However, it was agreed that this type of communication between public institutions and business community should become a standard practice.
The conference attracted a lot of attention and it was supported by the President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović and many other institutions that represent the business community.
