From Brussels to Banja Luka: A Step Closer to EU Funds
The Republic of Srpska Representation in Brussels together with The Rectorate of the University of Banja Luka organized a workshop on "Dissemination of knowledge and exchange of experiences and good practices for participation in calls for EU projects" under the slogan "A Step Closer to EU Funds".
The aim of the initiative was to exchange experiences, discuss the opportunities EU funds provide, maximize the use of EU mechanisms, improve cooperation between Universities as well as to increase the University's participation in various EU projects.
The workshop was led by experts from Brussels and Belgrade Mr. Marko Paunović and Mr. Vladimir Pandurov who have years of experience and realized projects within EU programes known as: Horizon Europe and Erasmus+.
Erasmus+ is the EU's programme that aims to support projects in the fields of education, vocational training, youth and sports. In 2021 - 2027 the budget for Erasmus + projects is €26 billion, and the program itself is becoming even more inclusive and international. The topics of digital transformation and sustainable development, equality and inclusion, active participation and stable employment, mental and physical health are becoming priorities.
Horizon Europe is the EU’s key funding programme for research and innovation with a budget of €95.5 billion. It tackles climate change, helps to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and boosts the EU’s competitiveness and growth.
The programme facilitates collaboration and strengthens the impact of research and innovation in developing, supporting and implementing EU policies while tackling global challenges. It supports creating and better dispersing of excellent knowledge and technologies.
Additionally, it creates jobs, fully engages the EU’s talent pool, boosts economic growth, promotes industrial competitiveness and optimises investment impact within a strengthened European Research Area.
