The Representation in Brussels welcomes acting Executive Director of IRBRS
The Republic of Srpska Representation in Brussels had a great pleasure to welcome the acting Executive Director for Portfolio Management and Joint Affairs of the Republic of Srpska Investment and Development Bank (IRBRS), Mr. Zlatko Popovic due to his two-day visit to Brussels where he participated at the conference of the European Association of Public Banks (EAPB).
During a friendly and very constructive conversation, our guest had the opportunity to get better acquainted with the work of Representation as well as to introduce the activities of the IRBRS in the field of foreign investments and international relations.
In addition, Mr. Popovic emphasized that the Sector for International Cooperation of the Investment and Development Bank of the Republic of Srpska is continuously working on establishing, maintaining and improving cooperation with international and domestic institutions. In the previous period, IRBRS had achieved significant cooperation with international institutions and organizations where it has a chance to exchange the practical experiences with similar institutions through membership of international organizations and associations.
The IRBRS has been an associate member of the European Association of Public Banks (EAPB) since January 2012, with the prospect of full membership as soon as BiH becomes an EU candidate country.
The Republic of Srpska Investment-Development Bank (IRBRS) was founded on 6 December 2006 pursuant to the Law on the Republic of Srpska Investment-Development Bank. The Bank is registered as a joint-stock company which is 100% owned by the Republic of Srpska.
Strategic goals of the IRBRS are encouragement of investments and stimulation of development in the Republic of Srpska. Besides, the role of IRBRS is professional and efficient management of assets of the Republic of Srpska, which are formally and legally registered in six Funds:
- Development and Employment Fund of the Republic of Srpska;
- Eastern Republic of Srpska Development Fund;
- Housing Fund of the Republic of Srpska;
- Share Fund of the Republic of Srpska;
- Restitution Fund of the Republic of Srpska;
- Real Estate and Claims Fund of the Republic of Srpska.
